Mortgage with unpaid direct debit

Hi me and my wife are looking to buy a house but I've just looked on my bank statement and there is an unpaid direct debit. I joined the gym just before national lock down then the lockdown started 2 days after I joined so I canceled my direct debt but it was too late as they tried to take it out then it went back in and it says unpaid direct debit. What affect will this have on me getting a mortgage. I have great credit score it's in the top on excellent I've never missed a payment before we have 20% deposit for the house that is 115500 my wife has good credit. Will this little mistake mess up my chances for a mortgage

No, you'll be fine. I've never known a Gym to show up on your credit file, so it won't affect that.
And when/if the lender assesses your Bank Statement, a simple explanation will likely suffice, if required.
