Has anyone recently sent the form I could ask a few things please. I'm dreading the phonecall. Do they go into everything my debt was caused whilst my mental health was not great and I DON'T want to go back there reliving it. If i say this will they treat me worse

Hi, I declared myself bankrupt in the last few weeks. Happy to answer any questions you may have. It has been pretty straightforward so far, hoping that continues! 🤞1

Hi, like many have said before it's not worth worrying too much about. He/she will talk through your application and ask you to explain anything they are not sure of. They didn't really ask me anything that wasn't covered on the application. It didn't really last that long either. It was far less traumatic than I ever expected!
I too have suffered with my mental health (but I didn't declare this) and I also didn't want to talk about that. Thankfully it didn't get to the point where I had to admit it, otherwise I would have got quite emotional.
In short, I had a lot to be concerned about regarding my debt situation and it was a relief that I didn't have to do much explaining, however they are a few years old now which may make a difference.
My examiner was very nice and just wanted to get the facts she needed.
Try to focus on the life changing final outcome, regardless of the discomfort of the interview. Unless you have some debts that can't be included, you will be debt free! Good luck.

I would be careful about saying you dont want to talk about the debt history even if for mental health reasons, they may think you are trying to hide some debt and they may also monitor you more closely throught as if you say it's due to mental health they may think if you suffer from further episodes it may cause you to go back into debt which is what they dont want.
Most examiners are really nice and as long as your debt isnt gambling or you dont have lots of assets (property, businesses etc) it should be fairly straight forward. Just talk to them explain the debt as well as you can and hopefully should all go fine.
If they do ask you questions that you struggle to answer it may then be worth saying the debt situation was exacerbated as you were suffering from mental health at the time so it is difficult to discuss but if you start by saying you arent going to answer questions about previous debt it may make the phone call go a bit harder.1 -
Thanks that what I thought. I imagine the questions will be more how I failed my IVA? Or do you think they will want details of all the debts. When you say gambling do you mean pre IVA ?0
