Remortgaging with Bluestone

Hi everyone
Just a couple of questions. We're a long way off yet but just trying to get all our ducks in a row. We have a 5 year fix with Bluestone on our newbuild. In order to remortgage with them, do we have to use a broker again or will they deal with us now we have an existing mortgage with them? We paid £2K in broker fees to get the mortgage initially and whilst grateful, couldn't afford that again! Do we pay for a new valuation also and if anyone has any idea on the cost of this?
Thank you!

Why would you remortgage / take another fix with bluestone and not look to move to a lower APR% lender?

Most people use adverse lenders as a stepping stone to getting their home, while waiting for negative credit history to drop off and then remortgage to a cheaper lender.

As above. After five years surely you would be in a position to remortgage to a high street lender?
  • Thanks for the replies. Yes, credit wise we will be absolutely fine by then. Pretty much there already. However our income has decreased slightly due to me having to take on caring responsibilities for my grandmother so I'm trying to err on the side of caution as I'm not sure a high street lender would accept. When we got the house it was 25% deposit including 20% HTB loan of approx £37K so we're wanting to swallow that too. We had joint income of £42K then and now around £26K.
  • How much did you borrow from the lender and H2B?
