Skipton mortgage

I have had a decision in principle that has passed with Skipton. I am a first time buyer and just worrying about the mortgage application as I don’t have the best credit rating. It is classed as fair.. once you’ve passed the DIP do things go through smoothly as it has done a soft search on my credit report? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Credit ratings are pretty irrelevant as lenders have their own way of credit scoring you, just like experian and equifax do.
Assume you just have a low credit score as oppose to having a previous history of bad credit (missed payments etc). Eitherway, as you've passed at DIP you should be fine.

I’ve got my FTB mortgage with Skipton. I too didn’t have the best credit history. My last late payment (two in total) and payday loans (loads of them) were about 2.5 years prior to application. I thought the whole process was pretty smooth in hindsight. We borrowed 95% and had a gifted deposit last feb (just got in thank goodness). We were buying well within our affordability though. On the whole a positive experience, we had a great broker too.I wish you the best of luck, i felt I was going to be really judged for silly past mistakes but actually everyone was very understanding and wanted to help.Take care 👍 perhaps update the board on how you got on 🤞1
