I cut my food budget to £20 a week for 4 of us, we have a lot of free food from the OLIO app and the local community fridge, we also have an allotment now so hoping that will help in the summer

    Hi
We've done an overhaul in our budget, cancelled sky but kept the broadband as the children need it for home schooling.  We logged for a week what tv programmes we watched and found 95% we free to watch anyway.  We were tied into an 18 month contract but when they sent me a letter advising of a price increase we decided to knock it on the head, saving us a massive £68 per month and they still discounted the broadband for us.  This saving will go towards our CC debt.  Also, trying to sell things that either we don't use or the kids have outgrown.  Even if it's only a couple of quid, every little helps.  Sold a child's bike that was gathering cobwebs in the shed, cleaned it up and got £40 for it.
We batch cook as well as meal plan for the week for the 4 of us.  Less waste and we also use click and collect for our weekly food shop so we don't get tempted to buy extra.  I use my vouchers to pay for the delivery plan as you can triple to value so this isn't physically coming out of our expenses.  I try to use Cashback websites wherever I can.  I also do a monthly spreadsheet which helps with income and expenditures, also helps with where we could save money too.  Our next tackle is the mobile phones which are up for renewal in November as we would have paid off the phone section too and transfer to sim only plans.
