I have an old NHS pension due to provide me with a lump sum of appx £16k next October, when I reach 60. Thereafter, I'll receive about £5k per year...2 -
Most people would be very happy to have a guaranteed income in retirement , especially those on low to middle incomes in most private sector jobs . I would not be in such a rush to try and transfer.IAMIAM said:I have a small old company DB one - valued £100k
I have TPS one, I also have an Alpha one.1 -
Treat it as the fixed income element of your portfolio.IAMIAM said:I have a small old company DB one - valued £100k0 -
Often you can. Sometimes not- if you take a full teachers pension, you can't work full-time in teaching afterwards (other jobs are okay for you)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

Hi
Yes I am currently in receipt of a Public sector DB pension and working for another (Public sector) organisation. My pension uses my tax code (no NI) and then I pay BR on all my employment earnings. I leave the Higher rate tax until Self assessment time as in practice I try and pay most of the amount over the HR limit into a private pension. I also pay into my employer's pension (Alpha).
No issues at all.
