Seiss Grant for Someone claimingg a Penison

With the next seiss grant hopefully on the horizon, I’m writing to enquire if some one can explain why my mother has not been able to claim the previous three seiss grants.
She has a state pension, a pension through the company that employed her for most of her life but she also has a business which has been negatively effected by the pandemic.
Just doing the sums in my head she must have been submitting tax returns for just under £50k per annum with less than half of that coming from her pension, so shouldn’t she be able to claim the SEISS payment? She applied for the last three but each time she was told she was not eligible.

Can someone explain why her claims are not successful?

Not without the exact breakdown of her taxable income.
You need to look at her Self Assessment calculations to see what data HMRC will be using.0 -
'She must have been....' - but DID she? Perhaps instead of doing the sums in your head, you (or she) will need to work through the eligibility criteria and work out why she isn't eligible. You should find all the info you need here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-the-coronavirus-covid-19-self-employment-income-support-schemehtrj said:With the next seiss grant hopefully on the horizon, I’m writing to enquire if some one can explain why my mother has not been able to claim the previous three seiss grants.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
If you show the breakdown for the last 3 years someone might be able to help.
Maybe it is the gross figure you are looking at and not taxable income. Self employed I know have had no problems with working out and confirming in/eligibility (HMRC very helpful in one case).
Did you/she query it with HMRC after previous failures?0
