Debt concerns & help

Hi really need some advice, I have credit card debt which I can’t see I’ll every pay off. Like everyone else the bills go up but income doesn’t.
a couple of the credit card companies have contacted me as I’m classed as in persistent debt. They suggest options to pay more each month. But i really can’t pay anymore then the minimum payment.
I watched the Martin Lewis show last week where he mentions to concentrate on paying more on the credit card with the highest apr, but if I do that that I’m left we no spare cash, however then I get a letter today from one of my other credit cards to pay more. So what do you do. I just give up :-(
after bills I’m left with £40 a month but if when I go back to work my petrol will need to come out of that.
can’t breathe 🥲🥲

Hi,
Homeowner or renting ?
What`s your total debt, under 20k ?
Would a debt relief order help ?

Fill in a statement of affairs and if you post it on the forum I'm sure the Debt Free Wannabes can give you some good advice.

I agree, complete the Soa, but be honest, an aspirational one
doesn't work. Go back over bank statements and see where you are spending money then we can help with maybe cutting costs in some areas.
In Nov 19 I was also receiving persistent debt letters for my credit cards and with the help of this site I am now managing my debt.
You have come to the right place. Good luck.

Totally agree with the other posters and I just wanted to say have you been in contact with any of the debt relief charities? They are absolutely brilliant, incredibly practical and knowledgeable and non - judgmental. Step Change / National Debt line? That was my 1st step when I was in terrible debt and I am so pleased I reached out to them. @Lover of Lycra is absolutely correct, credit cards are non priority debts, that's not to say that they don't need paying but please do not be scared by the threatening letters, they are designed to be that way.1
