I have just been on the phone to Asda as a quick glance at my online groceries receipt for the shopping that just arrived this morning shows that none of the multibuy discounts have been applied. These were all carefully selected and all were within the relevant offers. The customer services person told me that other people have been calling this morning about this problem, so she assumes there is a problem with the website (this is just her assumption at the moment). It will take up to 5 days for my order to be investigated and the overcharge refunded. I don't know when the problem started, but if you have a delivery today (or possibly yesterday), I would recommend checking your receipt. These are the multibuy offers I was expecting and the prices I was charged instead.
  • £5 pizza deal (2 pizzas + coke + sky movie) = charged £8.10 and can't get free movie (as you need to upload a photo of the receipt to www.movienightsin.co.uk showing the deal)
  • £3.50 multipack crisps deal (3 x 6-packs) = charged £4.90
  • £2.50 for 2 x cooked meats deal = charged £3.60
  • £4 for 2 selected cereals = charged £5.78
  • £3.00 for 2 sliced/grated cheese = charged £3.30
So for these deals I was charged £25.68 instead of £18; an overcharge of £7.68
