Shared paternity pay

Hi
Me and my partner work for the same company .
We are splitting 9 months of materity/paternity roughly 6 months for her 3 months to me .
Work have informed me I am only getting the paternity pay that my partner would have got and not of my income as I earn more than her as I have more hours in my contract .
I have spoke to the union that's what they have informed me .
I'm unsure if this is correct as what if she didn't work at the same company ect .
Was just wondering if anyone can give me confirmation this is accurate as I wasn't expecting them to do that .
Many thanks

shared shared paternity pay is a fixed amount unrelated to earnings. https://www.gov.uk/shared-parental-leave-and-pay/what-youll-get1
