Enlighten teeth whitening.

Has anyone tried this system? I'm thinking of having my teeth whitened. This system is available with a local dentist at £550.Is it any better than other whitening systems?

if if you are thinking about teeth whitening you need to do this before you have your denture or bridge as they will not lighten the same as your teeth. You then need to leave your teeth to stabilise the colour before going ahead with denture or bridge work. 

There are pluses and minuses to every whitening system , speak to your dentist to see what will be the most suitable for you (if any as not everyone is suitable for teeth whitening) .

Thanks brook2jack2. I'm having my tooth stump removed in about 5 weeks time. Hence my seeking to whiten them beforehand.

Whitening can take more than 5 weeks as best results are obtained with home whitening which needs impressions and trays to be made , and you need to factor in a couple of weeks to allow for the colour to stabilise .

Thanks. I'll ring the practice doing the Enlighten system tomorrow and check their time line.

Yes, I’ve had the Enlighten system and it’s really good. The dentist takes impressions of your teeth which are then sent off to Enlighten labs for custom fitted trays to be fabricated. Takes about 2-3 weeks to get the trays back. You then get 2 syringes of carbamide peroxide. A 10% and a 16%. Essentially you sleep with the trays on your teeth while you whiten for 2 weeks. Week 1 you use the 10% and week 2 the 16%. You then go back to the dentist with your trays and they do 2 x 20 minutes sessions with a stronger hydrogen peroxide. I’ve had my teeth whitened before, but I was really impressed with this system. I had minimal sensitivity and people often comment on how nice my teeth look. Good luck with your treatment.
