Length of mortgage

Hoping this is a straightforward question... I am 37 and my husband is 48. What is the likely maximum mortgage length we can get? Will it be based on my age or his? If it matters I am the earner so the mortgage will be based on my salary. Obviously the difference between 21 and 32 years for a mortgage is pretty enormous!

@bettyvob Based on earned income, with most lenders, the term can go up to 70 years of age for the oldest applicant (so your husband in this case). A few lenders will consider up to 75 .To go beyond that you will need to prove retirement income sufficient to support affordability.
