  • Thanks @QrizB very much appreciated. That sounds pretty much spot on once you allow a bit of contingency for the unknown.

    My wife's DB pension pays from 60 and my one only has a relatively small reduction to pay from 63 which means we have a little less to find. 

    We also have the lump sums from the DB pensions that are another £50k'ish. I am still paying into my DB so it should be worth a bit more by then.

    We should also pay off a reasonable sum of the mortgage by then. 

    So I think it will be in the £40-50k region I hope.

    In all honesty, despite the comments about the amount of debt we have taken on, the buy to lets have been a very good investment for us. The profits have allowed us to make much higher contributions into our DC pensions. And increase in value is also a bonus.
