Mortgage ID/ proof of address when staying with family

Hi, hope someone can offer advice please.
We have just completed on our house sale and move in with family temporarily while we find a house to buy.
How will this affect our mortgage application as we will have no ID or proof of address here yet.
Should we get our driving licence address changed to here and get ourselves on the electoral register here? I know even if we do this now it will take a while to update/ come through.
I’m sure other people have done this before but not sure how it will affect our mortgage application or what we should do?
Thanks

  • Where else would you leave all your post?  At your old address where you dont live anymore?  Surely that presents a security risk to you .

Takes about 5 days in normal times to update Drivers Licence and get a new one in the post.

Why wouldn't you bother updating your addresses? As this site keeps on (somewhat over-dramatically) reminding us, it's a criminal offence not to have an up to date address on your driving licence. Only took a few days the last time I did it.
