State pension forecast

Hi there, I recently received a state pension forecast of £168.36p when I retire, I also
Received one for my wife 178.46 my wife has only worked mainly low paid part time jobs
and 6 years as a carer for her dad I was wondering if her forecast could be right, we are both 60years old

    Without full details of what the forecasts state and the NI history it is anyone's guess.  Why do you think they may not be correct ?
    Your wife reached the full 30 year amount pre 2016 with, at current rates, £44.21 of additional pension accrued over maybe 40 years.

    As my wife has not always been in employment I didn't think she would have enough n/I credit

    Child benefit ?
    Carer's credit ?
    The NI history of the forecast will show how she achieved that amount.

    Sorry to seem a bit thick she did receive child benifit for our kids
    Does that count towards n/I credits

    Pre 2010 the maximum you could get was 22 years so 3 kids 3-4 years apart (or 2 at  6 years apart) would cover that.
