Mortgage advice

My partner and I are first time buyers and looking to get a mortgage. I have a poor credit history (12 payday loans and 10 missed payments on credit cards - the last of both of these being 3 years ago).  I now have an excellent credit rating and my partner also does. We earn 42k and 47k respectively in secure government jobs and the only debt between us is a loan for £134 a month.  I have worked hard to clear my debt and save for a deposit but am worried the quantity of missed payments/payday loans from 2017 will cause issues when it comes to getting a mortgage.  Is there anyone who has been in a similar situation who could share their experience or a mortgage broker who may be able to offer advice?

@louisebr12 Assuming your credit history has been clean for 3+ years, you should be able to get a mortgage at mainstream/mainstream-ish rates. Your options at 15%+ deposit will be significantly higher than if you only had a 10% deposit.

To state the obvious, the detail of your credit history matters so when it's time to start viewing I would recommend getting in touch with a broker who can look at the whole picture and give you a realistic borrowing figure and budget.
