Scottish Widows

Currently recently retired and receiving a pension from what was my company final salary pension scheme. In addition due to the company pension changes I was at the time contracted into a DC scheme with Scottish Widows. I am no longer contributing to the DC scheme and not sure whether to just withdraw the total amount and pay the additional tax. The pot is only around £4900.

If it is the best thing to do then you should do it. If its not then you should not. Based on the information you have supplied, that is about as good an answer you can get.
Will you be making use of your annual pension allowance now you are retired? (many retired people do).
Will you be using the pension tax wrapper with your investments? (many retired people do. it stops being about retirement planning but tax efficiency).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
