Phone call from OR's assistant

HI,
Just had a phonecall from the ORs assistant who, to put it midly, was rude, and implied I had assets I was hiding and belittled my mental health issues, asking about relationships and why they broke down. Horrific. Hopefully the OR will be a bit nicer when they call me in two weeks time.

Has anyone else had a call from an analyst? Is it just a London thing?
Im so upset, I'm shaking. Nevermind

We don't actually speak to the OR
An examiner will handle it0 -
Sorry, I'm confused. Is the OR interview not with the OR? Every reference on the site states OR interview I can see
Also, the assistant said that the OR will ring me in two weeks so maybe it will be. Don't know really0 -
The official receiver will have many examiners working in the dept and yes we refer to the OR but it's really the ORs department if that makes sense.
An examiner will be assigned to your case1 -
I think the term 'OR' is just used because it's an easy description, and the person who does the interview may vary.
Sorry you've had a bad experience. Was there anything that might have led them to think you were hiding things, for example, high expenses or high levels of debt but not much detail about them? (Not criticizing BTW, just wondering!). TBH it sounds like the person who spoke to you was just downright unpleasant.1 -
It would be very rare if you spoke to the actual official receiver - think of the OR as more like an MD of an office.0

Hi, thanks for your reply. It was a London office (Hackney maybe?). I guess just trying to establish any assets. I did say I owned a old Vauxhall (£300) and a none runner but she wasnt interested in that obviously. I didnt hide anything. All my debts were just borrowing over 10years and spending 500quid more than I had each month. Stupid but not malicious or trying to hide. Maybe she was just having a bad day. She did someone else would ring me? Maybe a different advisor maybe0

Yes, she might have just been having a bad day. Hopefully if the interview was with someone else, they will be more pleasant. Good luck and let us know how it went.1

Thanks Sonic, I will do. I appreciate and expected a bit if a telling off, even if I don't think I deserved it. I have paid the debts back in interest alone to most creditors over the years. Live and learn tho 😊0

Most people who post on these boards seem to have a reasonably positive experience with the telephone interview.
However its almost certain not everyone will do so, you always get one grumpy advisor don`t you, his wife may be having an affair, he may have just spilt coffee down his trousers, he may just be having a bad day, I would not take it personally, they don`t know you, anymore than you know them, you were just a case number to him, he may have just wanted to get something off his chest and chose you to be the recipient, its over and done with now, so try and put it behind you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Sorry to appear argumentative, but it I don't know if it is "over and done with now", as the OP mentioned earlier that he will be getting another phone call in two weeks' time, so this was a preliminary phone call rather than the actual interview? (In any case, whatever the second phone call is about, I hope the person is nicer!)1
