    'Bank transfer' could be BACS or Faster Payments. So the time will vary. BACs could be 3 working days, FP normally same day or next working day.
    From the HMRC site:

    If the deadline falls on a weekend or bank holiday, make sure your payment reaches HMRC on the last working day before (unless you’re paying by Faster Payments or by debit or credit card).

    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
