Bank holiday pay

I have just recieved my wages, in my contract it states I will recieve double pay on bank holidays. On the 28th December 2020 I worked, it was the official boxing day Bank Holiday. I did not work the 26th. I raised this with my company and was told that double pay is only being paid for the 26th December. Surely if my contract says Bank holidays that the bank holidays set out and published on the government website?
I have just been told 26th was the bank holiday and thats the only one being paid.
Is this correct?
*it does not state anywhere in my contract that bank holidays that fall on weekends will not be carried forward to the nearest working day.
Many thanks

Doesn't sound right. As you say, the government website clearly says these are classed as bank holidays: https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays

Have you (very politely, of course!) sent the link to your employer...?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Agree with Marcon. My wife worked the 28th and got double pay for it.

Yes agree with you, I process the payroll and we paid Monday 28th December as double pay for bank holiday.
Any search on Google will clearly show Monday 28th December as a bank holiday in lieu of Saturday 26th December.

Bank holidays don't fall on Sat/Sun. If these coincide then the date of holiday is moved on till the following Mon/Tues.

If employer is being squirrely speak with union.
