Hi, the Coventry for a btl asked for build up of deposit. They didn't say how many months, I just gave them 3 months bank statement. Is that normal for them to ask? And can they ask for 6 months or more? Thanks.

@tamin_miah Yes that is not unusual. They can ask for more as well.

@Thrugelmir accumulated over several years but the 3-months they requested is the month that I spent a bit more than normal so I couldn't save as much but you looking around 60k saving.0

For £60k deposit then you can expect a firm line of enquiry. For the majority of people that's a considerable sum to save out of their monthly income. The conveyancing solicitor is likely to dig further than the lender if you get as far as receiving a mortgage offer.0
