Holiday Pay Calculations

My partner works 20.5 hours per week (contracted) over 4 days each week (6+6+6+5 less unpaid breaks). Last week she was told that on one of her weekday shifts she would have to work an extra hour as she had taken one hour too much of her holiday entitlement as she had been given a weekday as holiday instead of her requested Sunday.
Is this correct as I have never heard of this before? I thought entitlement was worked out on days/weeks worked, not hours.

When days worked are not of equal length then the basis should be hours. If you take a holiday when you would normally work 5 hours then you use 5 hours of your holiday entitlement and use 6 if you take a holiday on a normal 6-hour day.RobertJKray said:My partner works 20.5 hours per week (contracted) over 4 days each week (6+6+6+5 less unpaid breaks).
