in Cutting tax
Hello,
Ive had a quick search but cant find what im
looking for. Does anyone have an Excel Spreadsheet for Salary
Calculation including Car Allowances and Salary Sacrifice I could have
please.
Ive used the multiple online calculators, using the
same input data I am getting significant differences of large amounts. A
few pounds would be ok but some are several hundred pounds.
Many Thanks in advance,
Fly0

Have you tried listentotaxman?
You may be asking a lot though.
Presumably your car allowance is really just extra salary but without it being pensionable?
And salary sacrifice means you aren't contributing anything to a pension, you are agreeing to a lower salary in return for your employer contributing more to the pension.0 -
I think Dazed_and_C0nfused is right. You need to fudge the figures that you put into the ListenToTaxman calculator, which is the best I have found. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

I tried to add the Car Allowance in and the output made no sense! ie a 6k allowance only made £100 per month increase @ Basic rate of tax.

£6,000 ÷ 12 = £500
£500 x 20% = £100
What about NI?0 -

Without knowing exactly what you have entered it's hard to know what has happened.
Maybe start from scratch?0 -

I am not a fan of most of these calculators as often you do need to understand what PAYE is doing in order to know if they are giving you the correct answer. One that has been mentioned is listentotaxman which has a space for Allowances/Deductions but these are allowances and deductions that would affect your tax code. If you leave the tax code space blank the basic personal allowance is used but with an adjustment for the allowance/deduction that you enter; if you enter your tax code then anything you put in the allowance/deduction space is ignored. There is also a space to tick if you are entitled to the blind allowance, again this is ignored if you put in your tax code as that should already have the blind allowance included.
I assume that the car allowance is a payment to you added to your taxable gross so would have nothing to do with the allowances referred to here.
If you want a reliable tax/NI calculator you need to go here....
http://payecalculator.hmrc.gov.uk/PAYE0.aspx for tax
http://nicecalculator.hmrc.gov.uk/Class1NICs1.aspx for NI
They will involve a bit more work but will give you the exact answer, provided that you enter the correct details ie tax code being used taxable gross NIable gross, and the previous pay/tax figures from the month before.
