I'm just trying to figure out whether I'm in a here today, gone tomorrow job, (was going to be in collections dept but got moved to "new agreements" as the more motivational way I would prefer to think of it, neither is one of those commissionable generated roles as it were) I enjoy speaking to a new range of society, am much more at ease and in absolute satisfaction in helping less fortunate people with items they may not be able to get elsewhere rather then resorting to doorstep loan sharks, but aware we don't do credit checks (we're not rent to own market but we're not kind of a charity either in the very best way I can describe it) in the back of my mind I keep thinking wasn't this kind of how the payday loan industry formulated, got massive at first on the back of rarely no credit checks carried out by some of the companies then boom along came new regs and FCA tighten up then which raised 'where there is blame there is a claim' to a new level.
I guess I'm just being silly and understand if I get barred now but am curious with all what happened to the PDL market - I feel I can't ask or that if I start asking to many questions at work, they might think I'm a spy in the camp or now asking above my position. I just remember years ago how an ideal job of PPI Claims Handler (really sales; being less delusional these days) whilst it seemed at a time people were getting far more savvy on how to do own claims, that was one of those gone tomorrow/wrong time jobs only lasted few months.

Anyone lending people goods for a monthly payment without credit checking them is asking for trouble.
The PDL companies were more of an issue of pressuring people into rolling over debts and lending to people without doing affordability checks, not lack of credit checks (though these didn't help either).0
