Buying small bit of neighbouring land

Hello, I’m curious if anyone knows of, or has been through the process of buying a small bit of land from a field next to mine.
The value would be very small, somewhere in the region of being well under £1000.
If the party was agreeable with selling, without giving them any hassle or running around....
Roughly, what would be the additional expenses (surveyor and solicitor I would imagine) and how much time from start to completion is expected?
