Making Cushion Covers

Question for sewing enthusiasts.
I want to pipe my new cushion covers but I'm not sure which is the best thickness of cord to use. I'm using left-over fabric from some curtains so fairly substantial fabric. Would 3mm be about right?

Not knowing what size your cushions are, I think 3mm is about right for standard-size cushions. Bigger cushions would probably look better with a slightly thicker cord, and I suspect the boldness of the fabric also affects the end look! Sorry, that's not very helpful, but 3mm was what I used for my brother's plain mock-suede standard-size scatter cushions & that looked right.Angie - GC Dec 25 £376.31/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 40/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)1
