The debt will vest in your bankruptcy so they can’t legally deduct anything in future. The onus is on you now to ensure that no further deductions are made. The OR will write to your creditors but don’t assume they will update their systems quickly to ensure the deduction is not made going forward.0

Macman82 said:The bankruptcy was granted. Ive already checked my benefits entitlement the only thing I don't get is any kind of sick benefit, but DWP determined I dont qualify even though I have been signed off for months. I suppose I could send the cat out to workI do get some council tax reduction, which I forgot to include in the I&E
Even though you say everything has already been sorted, you are still worried and anxious about money and debt and you could do much worse than speak to one of the advisors at somewhere like StepChange - they helped me so much. Advisors do not judge you or try to make you feel small in any way. They are simply there to help and their services are confidential and free. Here's the link - https://www.stepchange.org/
You also mention, almost as an afterthought, your gambling. There's now an NHS department set up for gamblers as it's been recognised as an illness. There's a link https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/gambling-addiction/ Whether or not you think it's a problem, it could be. Most people are too ashamed of their gambling to ask for any help. But it's there if you need it.
I hope you manage to get yourself sorted out - you did ask for help and I'd advise the first thing to do - contact one of the free debt help agencies. I can personally vouch for the fact that speaking to one of their advisors really does help put your mind at ease. They are knowledgeable and kind.
Good luck! I know it's a difficult time but you will come through this. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. yes, i submitted the application on 21st and got the bankruptcy order sent through the next day. I have been told to expect a call from the OR within 5 days. I had already contacted Stepchange and they advised bankruptcy as the best option.

With regard to your tenancy, if it’s an AST there is no need for it to be renewed. If you do nothing it will just automatically move onto a periodic rolling contract. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
