ONGOING CYBERPUNK 2077 REFUND PROBLEMS

Options
Hi,
I need some advice in regards to consumer rights for a bizarre issue I am having with a games website. The short version is that The Game Collection site agreed, via email, to refund my unopened Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4). This was in line with their post Christmas refund promise, and the game was returned in immaculate condition within the deadline.
It was received by them recorded delivery on January 11th. No refund has been given and I have emailed them twice since  - the second being a strongly worded critique of their handling. I have used the website a number of times before and have been shocked by how my refund has been dealt with (it has taken six emails to get to this point, including three just to agree to a return).
I genuinely think the customer services department is playing silly beggars now, especially since I initially contacted them about returning the game on December 27th!
Can anyone suggest an organization I can contact who oversees consumer rights for online purchases? I miss phone numbers for websites.
Many thanks.

I dot think there is anyone who oversees websites, maybe give Twitter a try but keep it short.

I am stubbornly anti Twitter. Also, I think you may be making a joke?

Making a joke about what ?
No joke was there, I dont believe there is anyone who oversees companies like The game Collection, I still think Twitter is an option.
  • Assumed 'keep it short' was a joke about limited amount of Twitter characters. Doesn't matter. Could you please elaborate on what can be achieved via Twitter, as I don't currently have an account.

I'm struggling with the idea that they can just refuse to refund me when I return a game. It's basically theft now. I think maybe I need to find out who runs the company and pester them?

Companies are often more likely to respond to complaints via Twitter as they don't like their dirty laundry being aired in public.

Keep it short as in keep to the point, likely to get you a response, same with writing a letter of complaint keep to the point.

Its up to you if you dont use twitter, no need to use your real name, just pick a random username and dont use it once the issue is resolved.

Use companies house to find out who owns it, maybe try that route first and if no luck then go for the twitter route.
  • I can't outright confirm this, but I've heard talk that CD Projekt Red has extended their returns window for physical copies until the end of January. This is apparently an extract from an email received from them...
"We'd also like to let you know that we have recently decided to extend the deadline for the Assistance Form submissions. The new deadline is now January 31st 2021 (11:59 PM UTC-12)."
Seems to be quite hush. A lot of people are getting to keep their copies as well. This might be a better option for some. I realise OP has already sent theirs to TGC though.
    FYI email is helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com.
  • Happily, the situation has now been resolved. We communicated via their facebook page and I finally received my refund this week.
