My state pension showing as £190

Hello all, I just checked my state pension on the gov.uk site and it is showing as £190.16. The last time I checked it ( a long time ago) it was £175. Is that just a mistake? I thought £175 was the maximum.

£175.20 is only the maximum for those starting out on their journey to State Pension since 2016.
Everyone else is under transitional rules which are quite generous.
You presumably built up more than the new "maximum" before the rules changed and that is protected. Albeit extra NI years won't increase it further.Post your forecast in full for more comments.1 -

So looks as if Dazed has correctly explained the position. You get a level of protection under the 'transitional 'arrangements from the old state pension system to the new, so get a slightly bigger state pension to reflect that you built up both basic rate state pension + some additional state pension (SERPS/State Second Pension) during your working life.gerdo said:Thanks for the reply Dazed, my forecast is belowYour forecast

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1
