Mortgage broker recommendations

Options
Hi all,
As the title suggests, can anyone recommend any free mortgage brokers (if the rules allow!).
Thanks,

All the brokers featured on the MSE page here are fee-free.

  • Honestly having first tried a well known free broker getting nowhere for 4 months and nearly losing the house I would say dont dismiss a fee charging broker. I got mine from here and at £399 on offer she literally saved my house sale and was worth every penny and more. Got an offer a few months back within 2 weeks of our first conversation - both me and my wife are self employed.

Same as above. We got a very good broker from this forum. She was able to get us an offer in a week with a few complex issues thrown in (that we weren't aware of!!). She didn't charge us any fees and said she doesn't charge any fees unless it's a very small mortgage. I think I am not allowed to name any brokers on the forum?
  • I paid my local broker £500 and it was and continues to be worth every penny.

nothing stopping you recommending someone you have used.   Brokers arent allowed to tout for business and suggest themselves though

Thanks for your message. I've nothing against paying a fee, in fact i paid someone for the purchase of the house back in March 20. I wanted a fee free one as i need to remortgage a portion of the loan in June this year and it should be a simple thing to sort

Can you not go back to the original broker and see if they will offer you some sort of deal?
With our customers, our initial fee is higher than it would be for returning customers. It is not something I advertise as I do not want to tell people the fee will be lower next time as they may come back with adverse or 1 years accounts having gone self employed, but assuming the case is straight forward, if we are doing a product switch with the same lender there would be no fee for example.

Can you give me the details please. My broker has taken 2 months and still nothing. Might lose the house.
