Applying for loan.....

Options
Does a lender get a up to date (today) of your file?

IE: If I overpay my CC...this doesn't show on my credit file until the next month. Do they see the same?

Lenders see your files in real time. So they will see it once the lender has sent through their update - which may only be once a month - or potentially less at present.

However - don't overpay your credit card. Just clear it in full, don't put it into a credit balance/
  • The reports are updated by CRA regularly, yes, lenders see whatever is on there today, which may not be data from today but only from the last update
If you say "overpaying" your credit card you mean you have a balance on there that you aren't clearing and you want to pay more? If so, lenders will see you have existing debt that is going down but this will affect the likelihood of a loan as it shows you are potentially struggling if you can't pay off in full monthly
  • Apologies I mean paying more than the minimum per month.
