Taking SEISS Grant AFTER mortgage offer received

Mortgage offer received from Santander but not expecting to complete until mid to late Feb. My husband has tested positive for COVID and is isolating for ten days, i have now developed symptoms and waiting on a test result which could result in his isolation period being extended. I work from home anyway so no problem for me, however he is self employed and can not work from home, if he applies for the third SEISS grant could this affect the mortgage offer we have? I've heard of some lenders doing further checks prior to releasing funds. We could manage without taking the grant but coming off the back of two weeks off over Christmas it will be tight. Any thoughts or experience with this?

@coopsy85 With regard to your current offer, if you were my client, in the current underwriting environment for SE income, I would strongly recommend against taking a SEISS grant until after completion. I hope the reasons are obvious but happy to expand if needed.

I’m in the same position, had a mortgage offer in December not due to complete until Feb/ March.Had 3 weeks off with covid and the grant would be useful. Think I’ve decided not to apply as I don’t want to loose the mortgage offer we already have.0
