in Cutting tax
Ive searched for this, followed the links & done the calculator but im still confused,
We have been claiming CHB from Dec '19 to Apr'20, so the 2019>2020 tax year,
I changed jobs in October, so my P60 is split between employers,
Where im getting confused is the calculator just asks for salary before tax, ok,, so then says I need to pay a tax charge, fine,
But then says I need to do a Tax return, But my P60 has a separate column with figures stating * should be used for a tax return which is half my salary
I don't know what to do here,
Just do the Tax return & see if I then need to pay the CHB charge?

If you need to pay the HICBC (or have already been issued with a return or notice to file a return) then the calculator is really a waste of time.
The HICBC will be based on what you enter on your Self Assessment return, not what you enter into the calculator.
You will need to complete two employment pages when completing the return, one for each job you had in the 2019:20 tax year. The figures for the first job would be shown on your P45.0 -

2020>21 I am sure I would be under £50k as I was furloughed for 3 months.
I didn't get a P45 that I know of from the other job as it was technically the same company, I just went from temp to full time.May'09 - Won tickets to Night at the Museum 2 June'09 - Electric Dreams DVD0 -
Have you asked your employer why your P60 only shows part of your earnings then?
Once you register for Self Assessment and are issued with a 2019:20 return you will have 3 months to complete it and submit to HMRC.
You can no longer pay any tax/HICBC for 2019:20 via your tax code. You will have to pay anything owed for 2019:20 direct to HMRC.0 -
