Deleted_User said:Thanks very much, jackieblack. The metal strips sound like the best approach. Like Torry_Quine I'm scared of losing my hearing aid and, knowing it is hopefully temporary, although no end in sight yet with Tier 4 Lockdown now extended here until review again in mid February, I can manage without my hearing aid out doors in the short term.Thank you for the good suggestions.CrimsonI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. We were in Tier 3 for a while, sorry I can't remember the dates sarah1972, but after going back into Tier 4 it was for review then, just this week, announced still Tier 4 until next review ? mid February. As far as I understand it 'our' Tier 4 is only very slightly less rigid than the 'full' lockdown in March. As an 'over 70' in March I couldn't do my own shopping - now I can (= allowed to) go for my own essential shopping - Scotland.
Like everyone, I will be glad when it is safe to return to normality, or at least to some easing of the restrictions once it's safe for that to happen.
It's an awful virus causing, such suffering and, sadly, not to be taken lightly at all.

I now wear those disposable blue paper ones that look like the ones they wear in hospital, they are so thin they don’t seem to steam up, unless it’s the metal bit you push against your nose stopping the steam, I don’t know.
It's worth remembering that if you wear your mask in the street and go into a shop your glasses will steam up anyway at first.

I just ended up taking my glasses off and carrying them, and just put them back on when I need to look at something closely or pick something up. It's far easier than not being able to see where I am going!! After about 10 minutes, things seem to be fine after that.

I just make sure the top edge of my face covering is against my face and the bottom edge of my glasses are outside that, helping to keep the material in place.0

My mask is home-made. The straps go around the back of my head, not the back of the ears, so I don't think they'd interfere with a hearing aid. The top is wired, but that works better some times than others, so I've been considering sealing up the fabric across the top by coating it with glue to see if that stops my breath going upwards toward my specs.0
