FIT Payments via Direct Debit/Bank Transfer?

Options
Hi all.

The previous owner of my house had his FIT payments coming from British Gas, and at the time I opted to stay with them. They've been fine, except the fact it's a bit of pain having to cash a cheque each time to claim the money.

Can anybody recommend a provider that pays via direct debit/bank transfer? Also, is switching over an easy process?

Thanks for any advice!

EDF pay FIT payments via bank transfer, usually within a few days (less than a week) of submitting the readings each quarter.
You can also ask them to switch the quarterly meter reading dates so that they match the 1st April annual increase.
Not sure how easy it is to switch to them, but their FIT team are usually very quick to respond.

I've been with EDF for years.  They are very quick at paying after you submit your reading.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • Does anyone know if you're supposed to advise your current provider that you are switching, or does it work the same way as switching your gas and electric, ie. your new provider takes care of the whole process?

One small exception, and that's my Q4 FiTs submission on my WNW system. This always takes about 3 weeks to come through, which I assume is the amount of time needed for the bemused computer to throw it over for a human to check, and then for said human (and colleagues) to stop laughing, and process it.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Have you asked if BG will pay direct?  I used to get a cheque from SSE but recently changed it to direct payments into the bank. Simples.
