A special day out to LIDL (spoiled)

It shows what a saddo I have become when I was looking forward to a trip to Lidl as a special occasion. I saw the link in Martin's newsletter about money off on the LIDL PLUS app. Me and the wife downloaded the app, drove 6 miles to Crowborough in the pouring rain and entered the store pretending to be strangers.A pleasurable shop was tarnished when we got to the tills (announcements about how we shouldn't forget to use the Lidl PLUs app every 2 minutes over the tannoy). " Its the first time I have used this app, what do I do". "Sorry its not working"."What , just at this till?"."No,everywhere". Any one got their free money? Would be interested to hear how you did it?

I got the £5 off on my 1st use of the app but the 2nd time I used it it wouldn't scan and the 3rd time I didn't have a data signal so I gave up on it

When I firs got the App it all worked fine, last time I used it I had accumulated £197 in spends, so I only needed £3ish to get me a £10 off.  Needless to say the app failed to scan and it wasn't util I got home I realized it. Given the current restrictions I was not about to return to the store to have the problem rectified, though I have since been informed that there is little, if nothing the store or Head Office can do about it.  So I don't bother with it now. If they sort the app out so as it works reliably then I might start using it again.  I will say that the stored receipt facility did help me to have a parking fine decision turned around because I went 12 mins over the car parking Managements allotted time.
