WFH expenses/tax relief

How does the £6/week from employer allowance get claimed? Is it through the HMRC microsite as one would claim the 20% tax relief or does it need to be claimed directly from the employer? Also, as it is tax free does this get recognised in tax code or just a supplementary tax free payment?

You can’t claim direct from the employer. It is at their discretion whether they pay it to homeworkers or not, it’s not an automatic right.
If your employer doesn’t pay it then you claim the tax relief on the £6, you do not claim £6.
