Euro 2020 ticket refund

Hi

I've got tickets for the England Euro 2020 (now scheduled for 2021!). UEFA have today updated their terms and conditions, which state that in the event of a change of venue to another European city, ticket holders would not be entitled to a refund. They've given ticket holders until 26 January to obtain a refund if they disagree with the updated terms and conditions.

I really don't want to give up the tickets whilst there's still a slim possibility it could go ahead at Wembley as planned, but I also don't fancy travelling to Russia (rumours are they are being considered to host the full tournament due to Covid).

I purchased the tickets using credit card, and was wondering whether that would give me S75 protection should they move the games to a different country that I couldn't (or didn't want to) attend?

Hi Barry, I'm in a similar position but just found this on their website:

In accordance with the Refund policy, if a match needs to be moved to another venue, UEFA will firstly decide if the tickets for the rescheduled match remain valid. When making this decision, UEFA would take into account various factors, such as whether the new venue is within a reasonable travelling distance from the original venue.

To provide further guidance on refunds in this situation, in the event that a UEFA EURO 2020 match is moved to a venue which is more than 50km away from the original venue, ticket buyers would be entitled to a full refund of the ticket price if they cannot, or do not wish to, attend. https://support.tickets-euro2020.uefa.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018865660-Has-UEFA-updated-the-change-of-venue-provisions-of-the-Refund-policy-

Given that there aren't any stadiums in another country within 50km of Wembley we should hopefully be covered for a refund.
