Bankruptcy Searches after Exchange

Hi all, I was looking for some advice if possible please. We have a mortgage offer with Halifax, we used a broker. We were made bankrupt in 2013 and so answered ‘no’ to the bankruptcy question in the application as it asks about bankruptcies ‘within six years’. I’m so, so nervous of the bankruptcy searches after exchange though? Might they throw a spanner in the works even though I answered the question honestly?
thanks in advance.

There should be nothing to worry about. You answered the questions as asked and thats all we can do.
Halifax I am sure will not be interested in the bankruptcy.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If you've got a reasonably competent solicitor (who you did disclose the bankruptcy to, didn't you?) then they won't have exchanged without ensuring that the bankruptcy would be OK with the lender. They have a legal responsibility to both you and the lender so they do tend to make sure everything is in order before proceeding to exchange.
It is a nervous time between exchange and completion, but it's highly unusual for anything to prevent completion after exchange.

I had no idea I needed to disclose bankruptcy to my solicitor? They’ve never asked any questions about our financial history?0

I’ve always been honest whenever asked. I’m far too anxious to do otherwise. I told my broker about the bankruptcy but she said answer no as it was over six years x0

Which is why is should not matter, your solicitor may end up reporting to halifax, but halifax will say it is over 6 years old so the question was answered correctly, no changes needed.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
