Finding pensions

Bit of a strange one, is there anywhere I can find a full list of all employers or search for pensions?
I have had over 15 different jobs and cannot remember start dates or end dates and I know most of them had pensions but I have moved 6 times and lost lots of paperwork along the way.

Have you obtained a state pension forecast?

See post below - you might ask for your record to be checked.

Not at all strange - pops up regularly on this forum! Be aware that just because an employer had a pension scheme doesn't mean you joined it and you were there long enough to build up a pension entitlement (usually two years for an occupational scheme), so you may not find quite as many pensions as you hoped - but you should certainly find some, especially if they were personal pensions, where there is no minimum length of service to acquire a 'vested' interest.daniellenash14 said:Bit of a strange one, is there anywhere I can find a full list of all employers or search for pensions?

Don't despair, try to be methodical. Write everything down as you remember/discover it so you don't forget again. Start by writing down those that you do remember and any dates or approximate dates you can remember. And the addresses of everywhere you have lived. Then you may remember more details over time and if so can add those. Talk to friends and relatives, look at old pictures - they may jog your memory.Once you have some details of some of the employers, you can write to them and ask for confirmation of details of your pension entitlement and accurate dates. Give them as much detail as you do have.Looking at maps or business directories of areas may help you to remember some names. The Companies House website has an awful lot of names but unless you have a starting point it won't help much.
