how do you enter these competitions if you are already following the promoter on facebook for example. I am already following foodenve from a previous competition but cant see this competition on their facebook page.2

I just click each link, which takes you to the page and you're given an entry.
If you are not already following them it's worth doing, maybe adding a comment on their posts.
Not sure what others do.
