Can someone please help?
My partner bought a new boiler with British Gas (Honeycomb) on finance, I have since been made redundant and wanted to pay the boiler in full with some of the funds. My partner went to make payment using my card debit card, firstly the operator would not let her but secondly demanded to know where my money had come from can they really ask this?

I suspect they may have asked something different. You'd only be asked where money in your current account comes from for a mortgage.

Transfer the money to your partners account so she can use her own card.

We said we were gong to do that and this is when he started asking where I had got the money from, just found it rather odd. It was only a few thousand.
