Bank Statements for Proof of Funds

Having terrible trouble with solicitor over proof of funds. We are gifted some from 2 accounts and I am moving money from several places to a HSBC account before sending to my partner who is then sending to solicitor. Providing 6 months of history is time consuming but not a problem. However - how do I show a bank statement for transfers made since 5th Jan? Solicitor wants either original PDF statement or photo of a postal statement and for them to show the account number that the money came from or was sent to on each transaction.
HSBC do not show account numbers on statements for faster payments unless an internal transfer, and you can only get a statement via print outside of your normal statement cycle on 5 days notice.
Also - partners dad has gifted via CHAPS from first direct to Barclays, but FD say they can provide no proof of payment in a document as all staff are working from home??

not sure what to do so any help appreciated!

  • Online bank statement from your dad will show the funds leaving his account. This will show his sort code and account number on it.  Online bank statement from you will show your sort code and account number and will show the money coming in to your account.  Even if your statement doesnt show the full account details on the transaction list the other documents will tie the transaction to the relevant accounts

Tell your solicitor what you've told us and ask them what they'll accept?

My gifted deposit was sent from my parents' foreign accounts to my foreign account and then I used transferwise to move it to the UK. Due to the very low daily limit of my parents' banks there were loads of transactions - it was quite messy. I sent copies of all the relevant bank statements (the transaction entries didn't show the sender's or recipient's account details) and wrote a page explaining it all. I put together a narrative and table to go along with it (dd/mm/yy €10k left A account €10k arrived in B account, €10k left B account £9k arrived via transferwise to C account). The solicitor was happy with that. She could see the trail.
