in Cutting tax
i am having a major problem with tax codes i have worked for the same employer for 9 years and have always been paid weekly but was only given a monthly pay slip my boss has no clue and has her accountant that does all this. just after xmas i was told by him that he is changing my monthly wage slips to weekly ( i always told my boss that if im paid weekly then i should have a weekly pay slip but because of cost she has always got him to do it monthly)
because im am not working at mo due to work place being closed i have been furloughed but am struggling so was told i could claim uc , my uc payment has been 0 this month because i have earnt over a certain amount which is not true cos im getting 200 pw furlough
I went onto my gateway acc and it says they have changed my tax code because i have a new employment with my boss and i now have 2 employments which again is not true ,i have tryed to find out from her accountant what is going on but hes not explaining it he just says that they will both stay on there ? so i have 2 tax codes one is 1250l and the other is br , this can not be right i sent him another email and took pics of what it says on my gateway acc but he is now getting annoyed with all the questions
when i spoke to tax people they said he needs to resubmit the rti again which he said he has done , my boss just leaves it all to him and just says she pays what he tells her
im banging my head against a brick wall getting nowhere and am really worried about this because he seems to think that its ok
is there anyone who can help me please

I suggest you have a word with ACAS. https://www.acas.org.uk/contact1

The two employments could be due to how they have filed the RTI (Real Time Information) payroll details.
What tax code is your employer actually using now?
Being weekly paid (in reality) with monthly pay slips is a recipe for confusion.
If the RTI information reported by your employer is wrong I think you can notify DWP if this so they will review your UC claim again.1 -
It looks like the accountant opened a new PAYE scheme for the weekly payments.
To HMRC that makes it look like you have two employments.
The accountant needs to close your record on the monthly payroll.
UC get the amount of your wages from HMRC so ask HMRC what amount has been submitted for you.

the accountant has said he has resubmitted the rti and that these two employments will stay on my record , again i have asked him why, he is now not replying to any questions i ask and my boss well she has no idea she just does what he tells her , i have told them both that i have not done this and it has caused me finacial hardship
thank you to everyone who has replied0 -

Do you mean your employer has changed, say from John Smith to say John Smith Ltd?
You might have two tax codes on your Personal Tax Account but of you are only being paid by one employer they can only now be using one tax code. What was it on your latest payslip, 1250L or BR?0 -
no apparently the accountant has changed the payroll number after he has changed me from monthly to weekly so on my acc there are 2 employments although i only have one job spoke to tax office yesterday even they are confused
on my payslip it is 1250l but on my acc is says 1250l on one employment and br on the other dont think this acc knows what he is doing and my boss has no idea, cos she just relys on him so is clueless, but whats also weird is that uc had my earnings from the 4th dec till 19th as 2140 which is laughable because as much as i would like to earn that lol theres no way that is correct so there is a earnings dispute going on with uc at mo
im totally confused and its stressing me out0
