Redeployment label on possible job

1. No. Not asking someone who is leaving to return all their equipment is negligent.MrBrindle said:Hi all, for anyone who has read this, the council have made the senior designer job external now, so I can apply.
However, is there any point in me applying? Because:
1/ I had to return all the equipment I used last week. Maybe this is a sign I wasn't in their long term plans?
2/ They stopped my contract suddenly, even though they said it was budget related and didn't mention performance.
3/ Even though I got down to the last 5 from 60 applicants, I didn't get the same job 3 years ago.
2. It was probably budget related, even if it was performance and they were too polite to say, you'd think they'd have ended it sooner if it WAS performance related.
3. But you've got three more years of experience now, haven't you? And you know the set up.
Stop overthinking it. Go for it if you want it. BUT make your application as if they don't know you, don't think "oh they'll know about that because I did ... " Imagine you were applying for this job somewhere different, and complete it that way.Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
Redeployment can be for medical reasons, at risk of redundancy, disciplinary, performance capability, returning from career break/secondment and more - not just redundancy.0

Thanks for this, I needed to hear some positivity! You're right, I am overthinking it perhaps. Just the council situation was so strange, and despite good feedback from the management throughout, I'm thinking did I do something wrong? But maybe this is just how the operate, and I guess I was expecting a little bit more from a public body. I've seen a fair share of dodgy going's on within the private sector, so I thought somewhere like local authority would be more efficient and professional.0
