Marriage Component??

I separated from my husband June 2019. From memory, I think he used to get my % of tax allowance (he was the higher earned).
I can’t find info anywhere, as to know whether he is still getting this element or not.
Anybody know?
I’ve got my Tax Code and details etc from Government Gateway but it doesn’t tell me
whether my %  is still going to my ex...... or because I’m now on UC and a single person...... do my records update automatically?
The link to ‘tell us of changes to marriage’ on the Gov Site takes me to ‘check if your eligibile for marriage element’....... but not the opposite!
Hope my query makes sense!😳

Your tax code will tell you if you are giving the marriage allowance, it will be denoted by an N suffix.  Your personal tax account also shows this information and gives you the option to manage it.
  • My tax code is
    S1263L

  • I’m wondering if it has to be applied for every tax year
  • That doesn't include any adjustment for Marriage Allowance.

You could have a different tax code for each tax year.

Last tax year (the final year you were married) the code may have ended with N which signifies you have applied for Marriage Allowance and have a reduced Personal Allowance.

In answer to your question in the opening post - your husband is not benefitting from any transfer of allowances from you. It appears that you have the full personal allowance of 12500 plus a further adjustment of 130, perhaps for uniform or other fixed rate expenses.
