I wanted to add, there's also lots of threads on here about extra ways to save the pennies. Some work for some people and some for others. I save my £2 coins (less to be had now😔), there's a grocery budget thread, people who tilly tidy (rounding down accounts) they're all great but don't try to do too much at once.
I set up a Monzo account which was a game changer for me as I could put money into "pots" for future purchases such as insurances, petrol, groceries. I get paid into my regular bank account, leave enough in there for dd's and put the rest in Monzo pots.
Glad you are feeling so empowered. It's great when you have your lightbulb moment and start navigating your way through 👍
