New trades career rip off

I’ve signed up to a plumbing course through new trades career and was made to believe that I could do my level 2 portfolio on site with there company ERR ltd. I have just found out this is not the case and have to do this myself, is anyone else in the same boat?
Is this big enough grounds to cancel the contract?

Their terms and conditions clearly say that it is the trainee's responsibility to find the work to use in their portfolio (see section 17), although their website is misleading. Their T&Cs are easy to find on their website, so I doubt any regulator will side with you if you insist on cancelling. You can complaint about the website being unclear, and I would escalate this to the Advertising Standards Authority if they don't change it in a reasonable time (say 8 weeks). If I were you, I would go though the T&Cs carefully to see what other surprises are lurking there, and then ask if you can cancel if you still want to. If they won't cancel it, you can't make them do so unless they are in breach, and I can't see that they are yet. 

Finding the work for your portfolio is not going to that onerous. You should be trying to make contact with plumbers who might be willing to hire you when you are qualified, so asking if you can do some simple jobs with them will be good practice and you will learn more about your intended career. If this is the only problem you have wit the approach to training, I would suggest you give it a go if you can't get out of the contract.
