Currys Rent Smart is trying to con me - help?!!!!

Hi there,
A couple of years ago I brought a desktop, laptop and printer for my small business startup at Curry's where I was talked into to buying on their Rent Smart scheme because it meant I could upgrade to the latest technology every 3 years. It didn't seem too bad a deal because I would get the latest tech delivered or choose to keep what I had. I found they have been overcharging me £36 a month for insurance I had cancelled because I have my own insurance, and since I have only a few months left I called Rent Smart to ask about the charge and also when I would be upgraded. They told me they will remove the insurance charge but will not refund me the amount to date, and they have also cancelled that scheme with Curry's so I am not going to get an upgrade - I can only either buy what I have at the price they will dictate (which they say they can only tell me next month) or I must send them the kit back ay my own cost!!! I have said that this is illegal as I have a signed contract with them that I have honoured fully to date but they say it is up to me to take it up with Curry's!!
I feel really conned and angry - surely this is legal and they should not be allowed to cheat small businesses about like this? Any help on this and my rights etc would be really appreciated because I have to pay them for another 5 month, which I can't really afford - especially in this pandemic - and it's not what I signed to and definitely NOT worth it AT ALL. I am so worried, I've never been in this situation.
Thanks in advance everyone and hope you can help?

Stop being so worried. This is not a problem to be worried about. Loosing your home or having a debt you can't pay is something to worry about. Having paid for insurance you didn't need is not the end of the world. Neither Curry's not Rent Smart could possible know that you already had insurance. You won't get any money back for the insurance because you have had the benefit of it. (Imagine how grateful you would have been if you needed to claim on your insurances but found that the other insurance was null and void for some reason.)
The right to an upgrade will be enshrined in your contract. The contract will name the parties to the contract, and the responsibilities of each party, so you need to read the contract to see if any party has not performed their part of the contract yet, and what terms in the contract allow each party to cancel the contract.
Businesses are expected to have access to more legal expertise that retail consumers, which is why there are greater protections in place for consumers and less protections for businesses. If you can't understand the contract, your business will have to pay a solicitor for advice.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -

I found they have been overcharging me £36 a month for insurance I had cancelled because I have my own insuranceOvercharging is serious. If they have been overcharging then you have grounds for a refund of the amount they have overcharged as you should only pay the bill amount. No more, no less. Are you sure they have been overcharging?I have said that this is illegal as I have a signed contract with them that I have honoured fully to date but they say it is up to me to take it up with Curry's!!How is it illegal? if it was, you could call the police. Or maybe you mean unlawful. However, how is it unlawful?I feel really conned and angry - surely this is legal and they should not be allowed to cheat small businesses about like this? How have they conned you?and it's not what I signed to and definitely NOT worth it AT ALL.If you did not sign up to it, then your signature will not be on the contract. Is that what you are suggesting?
As mentioned higher up, you need not be worried. This is not something that should cause the slightest worry. It is a frustration. That is all. You need to be a bit clearer on what you think they have done wrong and what parts of the contract you think they have breached. You haven't explained it to us what you think they have done unlawfully. We can only help as well as the information you give us.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
