Solar PV and Battery from Deege Solar

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and after some help if you more knowledgeable folks can help
I'm thinking about getting Solar PV and a Battery for the house and recently I've seen a price from DeegeSolar for 16 PV Panels and a 8Kw GivEnergy battery and inverter for £8,600 Fitted (although that seems to have gone up now to £9.5k but going to try all the same
)
First question is has anyone used them and would recommend them? and even at £9.5k is that a good deal?
I recognise that the payback may be a while but ultimately the battery should cover our normal daily usage so was going to basically charge from the sun and cheap Octopus night time tariffs.
Any advice would be greatly received

Hi, and welcome.
8kw battery sounds good, assuming that is 8kwh, and thats useable and not total.
16 panels, how much wattage total, what size of inverter etc.
Essentially we need more details.
On the face of it, I'd say it may be an OK deal, I certainly wouldn't class it as a good deal.
I've had no dealings with deegesolarWest central Scotland

8kwh givenergy is about 6.8kwh usable I believe. Still decent2

16 panels it says are 5.9Kwh (it says each one is 320w), Inverter is 5Kwh0

sorry they are 380w panels not 320w0

It can be a little confusing with terminology.
Output is measured in kilowatts kw if you have 1 kilowatt outputting for an hour it's a kilowatthour kwh.
So panels and inverters are kw and generation and batteries are kwh.
So 16 panels at 380w is a 6kw array, through a 5kw inverter with an 8kwh battery with 6.8kwh useable.
So as a rough rule of thumb £1 per watt and so £1k per kw is a decent number, so if you take it as 6kw for £6k that's about right.
You then have £3.5k for a useable 6.8kwh of battery which is not fantastic but also not terrible.
There have been several discussions on here recently about batteries, and the general conclusion is that they are not cheap enough to make financial sense.
So if you are looking at this purely financial, I'd suggest you ask for a quote for just solar with no batteries.
If you are less interested in a purely financial and more of a green or project view, then £9.5k is an OK price imoWest central Scotland

I looked at degee solar but the sales man was lazy with his quote and if your not interested in one of their package systems then they arnt too bothered in helping you. As you say in the last few days they have put up their prices by about £1000 per system. Their quotes are beatable i have just received a quote for a 6.1kw system with 8.2kwh battery for £8100"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"1

I have got a PV + Battery system from Deege end of Dec '20. So far they have been good and prompt with sorting anomalies. Dealing with some teething 'early life issues' around generation, monitoring etc., which they are looking at. Will update on how it goes.
Do go bespoke, based on what your requirement is. Their ads and prices are good, but in the end, the system should suit your roof and energy requirements!
